What can I send my husband in Iraq to remind him of christmas at home?

My husband is about to leave for a tour in Iraq. I want to send him a box that has 25 "gifts" that remind him of christmas at home. I can only think of about 16 things to put in the box. And we haven't been married long enough to start our own traditions. Any ideas on what I can send him so he doesn't feel like he is missing so much? This is what I have so far: pine tree sent, snowman, cotton balls, candy cane, stocking w/candy,santa hat, miceltoe (w/instructions for his return) bells, cookies, music, hot chocolate, mug, yankee home sweet home air freshener, peanut brittle,raindeer,sliegh,naughty-nice list, chestnumts, t'was the night before christmas.

I really need help so I can send this at the first of Nov so it makes it in time. I should probably mention that we are stationed in Germany and I only have th internet and what the Px has.

What can I send my husband in Iraq to remind him of christmas at home?

Reply:I got home movies from my wife, when i was over seas

they were great made me cry.

and i brought them back with me when i was done
Reply:pictures are good and home made decorations
Reply:How about a plaid ribbon that's pretty christmassy, and I'm sure he'd appreciate some special pictures. Get him one of those countdown calendars that reminds him its only 100 days left or something.
Reply:Here's an idea start your own tradtions with him even if he is away. Get a small fake tree and decerate it up for him to share with a friend, small gift's wrapped up for him to open, Sorry my mind is drawing a blank right now if you need any more help just drop me a line.
Reply:1) how about a homemade soup mix of some sort that you make? mix all the dry ingredients together and then write what he needs to finish it up on the outside of the package on a cute card. do the same with a bread mix. he can add it to the hot chocolate and have a completely "homemade" dinner.

2) a small Christmas tree with those tiny little battery operated lights with extra batteries.

3) if your sending Christmas music... do not assume he has something to play it on. send a cd player.
Reply:Maybe a naked picture of you and some lotion!
Reply:short, sweet and to the point. How about some mistle toe(plastic) and a print of your lips?

Hope this helps!Xxx
Reply:Give him a cd with christmas songs... Pictures of your family.. And especially a letter that has a christmas theme.
Reply:Send him your fondest memories of him and you togather.

Video tape would be best, or audio or in writing.

:)

In fact, anything of the family on video would be better than gold.
Reply:How about a candle?? My family lights alot of candles near Christmas. Or maybe a poinsetta (artificial of course).
Reply:What about a simple idea:

Just write him a letter, letting him know how much you love him, write him what ever crossed your mind, let the imagindery words of your heart playing in that letter.

Love you cannot split away, it's bond with your heart and his.

If he leaves you, make love to him that he will never forget.
Reply:a naked pic of you wearing a Christmas bow

that's what i would want from my g/f..lol
Reply:Okay...trying to remember here. When my son had to be over there on Xmas day (he's a marine) I can remember sending him a Christmas snow globe, so that he could see some snow. A CD player with Christmas tunes, and some other stuff he likes. Oh yeah, I went and got him one of those four foot long Christmas stockings with the iron on letters and put his name, rank and platoon number on it. I stuffed as many of the gifts into that that I could. You've covered a lot of the things that I sent too. Oh..I forgot..I picked up a miniature Christmas tree and lots of miniature decorations for it, you know, garland, lights, ornaments. He loves decorating the tree and that way he was still able to do that too. In fact, he and a few buddies did it all up so others were able to enjoy that one thing too.

Hmm, I'm drawing a blank. If I can remember anymore I'll come back and post them. But remember, whatever you send him is going to be loved and appreciated. They get so lonely and homesick over there that any and all little gifts from home are priceless to them.
Reply:missle toe-oh you spelled that wrong. how about picture of you dressed as mrs santa in skimpy red nighty?
Reply:Dear Military Wife

First of all I would like to say "thank you" to you and all the other military wives who are the women behind the men who represent and protect the USA. Here is a very cute idea I found for you to use as one of your gifts. I am sure you will be able to revised it in small ways to make it just right for your husband.

*******************************

MAGIC CHRISTMAS DUST

You'll need some dry oatmeal

Some glitter

Small baggies

Paper Tape

Ribbon

In each baggie put a couple of tablespoons of oatmeal and a couple of pinches of glitter.

Seal up the baggie. (I admit, you could use other bags if you tie TIGHTLY with a ribbon.)

On small slips of paper, print (type or handwritten) the following message: "On Christmas Eve sprinkle this magical dust on your lawn (or you could write** on your doorway). The glitter will sparkle in the moonlight and help Santa find you. The smell of the oats will guide the Reindeer!" Or use this poem:

Oh Christmas Eve night, when it's dark and still

And Santa is on his way.

Sprinkle this magic food outside

And it will guide his sleigh

Rudolph will smell the oatmeal

As they hurry across the sky,

And the sparkle of the glitter

Is sure to catch his eye.

So say your prayers and jump in bed

As softly as a mouse,

So Santa and the reindeer

Can visit you my Dear!

Either tape the message to the baggie or attach with a ribbon. You could actually put the paper inside the baggie if there's not too much oatmeal in the way to read it! You can make several at a time just line up your baggies and go down the row with your ingredients. This is a great item to put inside of a Christmas card-makes it a little bit more special and memorable
Reply:Send him a christmas tree !!! Ok maybe something smaller like a present with a message that says "Lots of love" ETC ETC !!!
Reply:Pics of your family and a love letter from you!
Reply:how about a bunch of CDs with christmas carols? and if he doesn't have a CD player, send him a discman. or if you prefer mp3s and an mp3 player fits your budget, download a huge selection of christmas songs (if you don't have them already) and upload them onto the mp3 player. you don't have to get something huge like an ipod, just something that holds like 100 songs or so.
Reply:How about a letter to santa? I know you can get on the internet and write one and then santa will write you back or something to that effect. I look into it last year for my children but was too late. I think something like that would be very sweet and would let him know how much you love him and want him back home. Also it seems like this would be a tradition you could start and take on into your lives as you have a family and could include them too. I hope all goes well and that he comes home to you safely. And thank you for giving to keep my family safe. It has not gone unnoticed here at home, God Bless both of you.
Reply:Heather, take it from someone who knows. You could send him 25 marbles, and he wouldn't care, as long as it's something from home.
