Is it just me or do they start Christmas the day after Halloween?

Had a party last year and the radio station was playing Halloween themed songs. Then all of a sudden Jingle Bells started playing at 12:01. If you ask me takes away from the hoilday because when you start that early you get sick of it by the time it finally comes. Two months of Christmas come on

Is it just me or do they start Christmas the day after Halloween?
It certainly seems that way, 2 minutes after midnight and the Xmas stuff is e-v-e-r-y- where and then Bing comes on over the PA system singing White Christmas. Don't you just hate it? You can't get thru Thanksgiving without someone asking..."Have you done your shopping yet?" Well, it's all about money, profits, the way of life in America. And, then it starts all over again next year. I got off that bandwagon a long time ago. No gifts, no tree, no lights and I just make the dinner...sometimes I gift myself by getting a Chinese take out. Best part is I have come to love it this way. .
Reply:I think to remind people to shop more and earlier. Everything boils down to the commercial aspect of it.
Reply:what ever happened 2 thanksgiving?????????

from giving candy,

2 giving presents.........

what about giving thanks????????

w/u all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:yea it sure seems that way. it would be really nice if they would at least wait until after rememberance day.(nov.11-canada)
Reply:It is known retail practise to start the Christmas "shopping" season on November 1st, the day after Halloween.
Reply:It sure seems like it, doesn't it? I remember when Christmas stuff started the day after Thanksgiving. Now, in September, the Christmas stuff goes up in the stores in the mall.

Christmas music starts on the radio on Nov. 1st and goes on and on and on. I am with you- I am tired of it by December.

I don't think we have to start so soon. (at least with the decorations and the music). I know people who shop all year 'round for Christmas gifts, but that's o.k. They don't blow all their money between Nov 1 and Dec 24.
Reply:I probably shouldn't even be answering this question because Christmas happens to be my favorite time of the year, but you are right.....they (the stores) do seem to be jumping on it sooner each year. However, you can choose to ignore it....or start shopping early so that you can really enjoy the "season" when it truly arrives.
Reply:in the u.s. yes.....however in canada we celebrate thanksgiving in early oct......
Reply:Actually there is christmas in July sometimes also, but yeah it does take away from christmas. But if you have kids, you see it through their eyes and its amazing.
Reply:It is not just you. You are correct.
Reply:Man I'm so with you on this one, by the time it's over I'm applauding.
Reply:AMEN!!!

I've actually seen this week where one of the local stores (home decor/garden/craft) has Christmas trees %26amp; decorations up ALREADY!!! The kids aren't even back to school yet!!!

I'm wth you, it really takes away from the spirit of the holiday.
Reply:Yeah, I agree. Strange. It's like Forget Thanksgiving! Who cares about that.
Reply:There are already Christmas decorations for sale at the local Hobby Lobby!!!!
Reply:Every year it gets earlier and earlier.
Reply:agreed 100 percent lol
Reply:Do you know that the 12 days of Christmas begin on the 25th of December? Whats the matter, you don't like being a consumer? The best way to celebrate any Holy day is to Thank God then find ways to help others less fortunate than yourself and not just children, their the easy out. Helping a lonely ole person with a shared meal helps a lot more than buying geegaws.
Reply:to me, it seems like it starts after labor day.
Reply:It's getting ridiculous! I'm waiting for it to start the minute the fireworks go out on the 4th of July! A store near us has Halloween stuff marked down and off of the shelves 3 days before and Christmas stuff up! I told them last year I would not by a single Christmas item from them because of it and wrote to their corporate office! It's sickening!!!
Reply:I thought it started right after "christmas in July", which in turn starts right after, "valentines, mother's, and father's day"

buy, buy, buy your love.
Reply:You are kinda right and if you don't remember, I picked you best on my question about the bullies!!!! Will you please give me ten points? I already gave you ten points!!!!
