Christains and non believers that decorate and celebrate halloween passing out treats and taking their kids around receiveing treats and then take down the witches ,ghosts and skeleton decorations and replace them with church bells ,nativity scenes, angels and stars and of course santa ?
Why do christains and non believers celebrate both halloween and christmas ?
true Christians would not celebrate it, it is a pagon festival, like Christmasday.
Reply:Christians and non-believers do not celebrate the exact same things...
Halloween is a relatively recent craven invention celebrated on October 31st. It's a 'fun' family time with ghosts and ghouls and costumes and trick and treats.
This has nothing to do with the Christian commemorations of All Saints Day (November 1st) and All Souls Day (November 2nd). I think that you will find more Christians worldwide celebrating the latter two.
As for Christmas, where has the Christ gone? Christians are hardly allowed to mention His name anymore even though Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ.
Everything has become "happy holidays" tainted by crass consumerism.
Secularism at its best...
Reply:im wiccan and believe it or not halloween is my new year and christmas was our holy day but the cathloic church way back then said that pagens were devil worshippers and took our holy day and made it the day jeseus was "supposed" to be born so i dont know why every one celebrates thes holidays the way they do and should really think about why before they do and in december around the 21 -23 is candlemass something like x mas but not
Reply:Just to have candies and gift like other ppls
Reply:Not all Christians approach those two holidays in the same way. For example, our church does not go in for the witches, ghosts, and skeletons of Halloween. All the children at our chuch have a fun time in our fellowship hall on Halloween and they dress as Biblical characters and explain to others why those characters are important. There are wholesome games (not ouija boards or séances). And the members of the church provide candy for the children too so the kids will not have to go out trick or treating. I am sure the kids could do this on any day of the year, but they do it on Halloween because nonChristian children get candy on that evening walking from house to house. We want our children to have fun, but in a Christian way. Also, our Christmas celebrations are all about Jesus' birth. We give gifts to each other in remembrance of the gifts that the wise men gave to the baby Jesus and for the gift that God gives us (his very own son), but we do not follow the Santa Claus tradition at all.
Reply:Because we're pagans, and we are taking Christmas back!!!
I know it's been said hundreds of times.............
Why do christians celebrate a pagan holiday?
