Does this sound a little extreme to you?

Sunday afternoon I was visiting the local fairgrounds for their annual Victorian themed Christmas gift festival and I overheard this one woman telling a Salvation Army bell ringer that she was so glad to see them because she will only shop at or walk into places that allow them to ring their bells. I thought this was a bit odd because you had pay $$$$ admission to get in first of all, and there was no indication anywhere in the flyers for it that were distributed around town prior that there would be any bell ringers there. So if they hadn't had any bell ringers, she wouldn't have been able to get her money refunded. And I was half wondering if that also meant she didn't do any shopping the rest of the year since many grocery stores and other places around town don't allow them at all.

Does this sound a little extreme to you?
I think she meant that there are some places that have been reported to disallow SA bell ringers at Christmas time, and so she will not shop at those stores any time of the year.

She was showing him her support of the cause. I do not think she meant that she wouldnt be here if he wasnt here. She does not avoid places were bell ringers are not at, only places that specifically disallow them.
Reply:Maybe she only goes to the places that she knows at Christmas time will have the bell ringers there. I don't think she meant she only shops *when* they are there.
Reply:You are aware you're being ridiculous, don't you? Sometimes you have to look for what is implied in the conversation when you're "overhearing" or being nosey.

Also, you should take into consideration that SA workers don't ring their bells except during the Christmas season, so just because there's no bellringers in the summertime does not mean they aren't allowed.
