What's the name of this song? (classical holiday music)?

I'm looking for a classical song.. It's very, very popular but I have never been able to find out who is the composer and what's the songs name. It's mostly used in commercials around Christmas time and it is used in a lot of Christmas movies. It is played by bells or the triangle and I think a flute... First it goes only the bells/triangle and then a little bit of the flute and again the bells/triangle.. Anybody know what it is??? Please?

Thats not a lot to go on.
Reply:Good for you! I was waaay off! I thought it might be: "Do You Hear What I Hear?" I'm glad you found it! }:%26gt;
Reply:Maybe it's Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy by Tchaikovsky...
Reply:Carol of the Bells, perhaps
Reply:I'm glad you found it. It's also played on the celesta, a keyboard instrument that sounds like a toy (in my opinion.) Tchaikovsky heard this instrument right as it came out and he wrote this piece for the celesta right away before any of his contemporaries beat him to the punch.
Reply:I think you are referring to "Carol of Bells". It has lyrics but typically in commercials it is just the music.

Youtube.com has some great videos with the different versions of it. My favorite is by Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Hope this helps.

Merry Christmas!!
Reply:the hallelujah chorus- composed by Handel
Reply:It could be The Holly and The Ivy.

Ive heard it played several different ways.
Reply:Two suggestions, and I may be way out in left field, but--------------------

Checkout the composer "Leroy Anderson" on the Internet; You Tube would probably be your best bet.

The other is P.I.Tschaikowsky's "Nutcracker" ballet. There is one dance which could possibly be the one that you're thinking of.

It's called - can't recall for sure - something like "Dance of the Reed Flutes". But you should checkout the entire ballet: lots of really very beautiful music.

Wotan
Reply:this is a very vague description, but could it possibly be one of the songs from the nutcracker? those are very popular in christmas commercials.
Reply:Carol of the Bells?
Reply:is it tubular bells. or the opening of band aids 80's single?
