when the last bell rung before the christmas break she gave me a long hug and i like her and am not sure if she likes me back.

Hmmmm....that's a tough one. Depends on your personality. If you live by the philosophy that better to know than not, then I would say tell her how you feel. If you are fearful of the thought that telling her may affect your friendship (unless she feels the same), then I would play the waiting game.
Typically, if a girl likes you there is a lot of flirtation and 'fishing'.
I always trust my gut instinct.....maybe you should see what that is telling you and proceed accordingly. Good Luck!
