I've done it before, and it is a study in human nature. Those who do not donate act like I am not there--no eye contact whatsoever.
Merry Christmas all:)
I am volunteering to ring the Salvation Army bell tonight...would you put something in the kettle?
I always donate something even if I don't have much to the bell ringer. I think it takes alot of guts to walk by those volunteers and not even so much as say "Merry Christmas". I always pack my girls some change in their purse (they are 5 %26amp; 7) and they always put something in. Merry Christmas to you and thank you for donating your time!
Reply:No. I stopped putting money in the Salvation Army kettle when they decided they didn't like anybody who wasn't heterosexual.
Reply:I always make eye contact with the bell ringer and greet him or her. Usually I drop some money in the bucket. You will likely get larger donations if you take the initiative to greet people with a 'Merry Christmas" or some other appropriate greeting, accompanied by a smile.
Reply:And...........you have a Masters Degree in Psychology and just like to dress up in a Red Suit and beg...what ever rings your bell!
Reply:I donate if I have any money to spare. I stopped giving to this one charity because they always set up camp along my street and I gave enough times that I didn't want to give them anymore. Maybe people don't give because they have already given or do not believe in that specific cause for whatever reason.
Reply:cuz youre in their path....no sorry Im watching Jericho
