Does it irritate you when.....?

From now until Christmas every store has the bell ringers with their pots there. Ringing and ringing and some give you a dirty look if you don't give. Don't get me wrong I give a lot to charity, I just cannot stand the bell ringing. Nothing against the people either, just the bells drive me nuts.

Does it irritate you when.....?
Honestly, I wish I could wear some sort of sticker that says, "I already donated money!!!" I actually had one of them tell me, "You went in that store and didn't put any money in the bucket. You are now out of the store holding 10 bags, and you still aren't going to give any money? Did you spend it all?"



I didn't satisfy him with a reply. I just shrugged my shoulders and went on about my business. I had already donated to another person's bucket earlier that day... AND...I had already written a big, fat check and mailed it to the local shelter here!!!

Reply:yes. they act like you haven't given to 65 of them already before you get to them. they annoy me.
Reply:that's why i don't go shopping, or outdoors. i know, i don't have a life.
Reply:I don't mind it at all! I actually kinda like it, because I use that as an opportunity to teach my children to give! Every time we see a bell ringer they always start unloading my change purse lol and they have fun giving and I have fun watching them learn to give! sometimes the guy even lets them ring the bell (that's an added bonus)
Reply:I give when I can and when I can't.......sorry, too bad. But as for the bells, I tune them out and walk away glad that I am not the one doing the ringing.
Reply:I don't care for the bells (or other groups collecting for various causes) outside the stores I shop at either. I feel they're putting you on the spot. I give to charity frequently - Salvation Army, Church, YMCA, Big Brothers, local schools, American Legion, maybe a couple of others. But not when I'm shopping.
Reply:I already donate and give to charity and the like. I give the bell ringers my loose change on the way out to make them stop giving me looks.
